Overview
Students will learn the major principles and patterns of English spelling, learn reliable spelling strategies that they can apply to both familiar and unfamiliar words, and become aware of the rich network of spelling-meaning relationships that can extend their vocabulary.
Assessment/Due Dates
Each week, students will be required to turn in words and sentences for all 30 words. They are required to write each word 3 times and they must also include a complete sentence that contians the spelling word. They will need to complete this for the basic and challenge words. These will be due every Thursday morning and must be submitted before they go to Math class.
Spelling Tests will be on most THURSDAYS!
Grades
Grades are recorded on a point basis. Each category is then weighted accordingly.
Homework: 50%
Tests: 50%
