St. John Vianney Catholic School
March 19, 2021
This has been a week of fun! We celebrated St. Patrick’s Day, Kindergarten style.
In Atrium and zoom Religion class, we learned about parables. We heard about the parable of the grain of wheat and the Good Shepherd. Good is good as the theme of both our textbook work as well as our hands-on work in our Atrium were of the same theme!
In Superkids, we worked on the letter R and the sight word, “of”. We also delved into the words families “ub”, “ug”, and “ag”. We finished another booklet and are excited to start another booklet on Monday.
In Math, we worked on counting on. In Kindergarten, we should be able to “count on” from any number. As of now, our focus is counting on up to the number 20. We have also begun work with skip counting by 2.
In Science, we did a little experiment on “chasing rainbows”. We put plastic glasses filled with water on our windowsill and used these as a prism to capture the colors of the rainbow on paper and cardstock. This was a very fun experiment. We have our results hanging in our hallway!
Spring Break will begin at the end of the day next Friday, March 26. School will resume on TUESDAY, April 6, This will begin the LAST day of our FINAL quarter of the school year. It is amazing how fast this year has gone.
Thank you so much for all you send in to help our class. Our current needs are wipes, napkins, and small paper cups.
