Dinner Auction Jean Day for the first grade: Friday, June 2nd.
Field Day: We will have a field day on Tuesday, June 6th. Students can wear jeans, shorts, or comfortable clothes. They may bring outside toys to play with. They may also bring a beach towel or blanket to lounge on.
In the afternoon, we will listen to Jazz On Wheels!
A pizza lunch will be provided.
Reading: We will read: “Zoo Clue” Skills we will focus on will include: recalling details, picture/text relationships, compare and contrast, and drawing conclusions.
Spelling: Next week’s words are: baboon, mushroom, bounce, promise, squeeze, voice, blouse, mouse, nurse, purse.
There will not be spelling sentences.
Writing: We will review writing skills.
Math: We will continue with fractions; skills we will focus on will be: equal shares of circles and squares, understanding ½ and ¼, and problem solving.
Science: We have been learning about the water cycle. Some terms your child should know include: evaporation, condensation, precipitation, and collection.
Religion: We are preparing for our Mass on Thursday, June 1st. Please join us at 10:30 for this special celebration!
